D. C. Votes for Equality

Be sure to read my Western Tribune column from today's paper, following this post. I think I stirred something up.

Yesterday the D. C. council voted to recognize same sex marriages performed elsewhere. This is preliminary to a gay marriage bill for the city. Story from the Washington Post .

A poll at that web site at this moment has 87% of respondents choosing "The city should itself legalize gay marriage," 4% choosing "The city should recognize gay marriages," 2% choosing "Civil unions or domestic partnerships only," and 5% choosing "None" (no recognition of same sex relationships).

I need your help at Bessemer Science and Nature. It has to do with this:

Barring big news, tomorrow I plan to address a reader's comment regarding the story of Sodom in the Bible. Yesterday's post, of course, addressed the story based on the Hebrew writings. Oh, the Old Testament book of Genesis is Hebrew writings, that's right. Anyway...stay tuned.

Richard,
I will let it slip this time, since you are a newby to reading and understanding. But you did break one of my rules.

I have never read nor quoted Carol Fontaine, by the way.

What God is doing, is slowly showing those who do not understand the diversity he created what is true and is not true. I thank him for allowing me to be a part.

Richard, May God Bless you. For you are so ignorent to the fact that God loves everyone.

If you are THANKING him for being gay, then he is not hearing your prayer. That is like THANKING him for being an alcoholic...or THANKING him for being an adulterer. Those are sins. He will not ACCEPT that. Sure he made us diverse, but he also made us in his likeness. To be a Christian is to be CHRIST-LIKE. Homosexuality goes against the laws of God. He did not make a man for a man, but a woman for a man.

Truth IS ABSOLUTE. That is what is wrong with this country. Everybody thinks that they can believe what they want to believe and as long as we disagree peacefully, then everything is okay. But it is not. It is time for TRUTH to be shared and for GOD to be followed. We are not doing either one in this country. How sad.

WE (those who oppose homosexuality as being normal) DO realize that God loves everyone. God IS love. Sunday is Easter. It is the most important day in the history of chrisianity. The day that Jesus overcame death adn the grave. But just because HE loves everyone, doesn't mean he loves WHAT WE DO. He LOVES the murderers and the thieves and those who blaspheme his name. He loves the homosexuals but does NOT love their sin. He wants them to change. What is sad is that they are trying to justify what they do and call it normal, saying that God made them that way. It's crazy.

Richard, I am sure, knows that God loves everyone, but Richard, and John, and Kristi and Perry Stone have all got it right. Homosexuality is a sin. It is wrong.

Richard,
Being gay is not like being an alcoholic. Alcoholism is an addiction. Sexuality is not. Alcoholism is not a sin. What an idiotic thing to say.

Being gay is not like being an adulterer. Adultery is a sin, yes, according to the Bible. Listed in place where homosexuality is not listed, by the way. Adultery involves a choice of behavior. Being gay only involves a choice of acceptance (of the way God created you).

Rev. Bill. The truth is what set me free. Almost 15 years ago when I accepted the truth from God that he loves me as I am.

So Richard...cancer is a sin? Dementia is a sin? Lupus is a sin? Those sinful diabetics?
