Anti Marriage Ad

Odd picture of the day. Seen near my house.

National Organization for Marriage made a silly ad and many parodies and responses have been produced. Here's one.

Homophobia: an irrational fear of, or aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.

Bigot: a person who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race or politics, and is strongly intolerant of those who differ.

Here's the line up for the video:

In order of appearance:
1. Anita Bryant, anti-gay activist gets a pie in the face
2. Bill O'Reilly, of "The O'Reilly Factor" discusses a lesbian couple that was voted "cutest couple" in their high school yearbook
3. Yes for Proposition 8 Campaign Advertisement
4. A Phelps Family (Westboro Baptist Church) anti-gay protest
5. Gordon B. Hinckley, former president of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" on Larry King discussing homosexuality
6. "Gathering Storm" anti-gay marriage advertisement from the "National Organization for Marriage"
7. "Protect Every Kiss" gay violence advertisement from German organization "Maneo"

Stephen Colbert also made a parody of the ad.

I'm glad we can have fun with this, while showing the ridiculousness of the attempts to deny equality.

Kristi,
It's not a choice.

Joe,
Yes it is!!!

Kristi,
Ok, tell me when you decided to be attracted to the opposite sex. Was it a difficult decision? Did you weigh the options? If you say you did not have to choose, you make my point. If you say you made a choice, then it just means that as an individual, you are bisexual.
So tell me, when did you choose?

kristi said...

That is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I didn't choose because God created males and females for each other. When a boy CHOOSES to be with a boy, he is doing what is wrong. I think it is referred to as UNNATURAL AFFECTION.

Kristi,
No more.I have the final word. Don't even try.
You did not choose because there is no choice. Sexual orientation is what it is. Like I said, those who are bi did not choose to be attracted to both.but they do choose who they want to be with, from among both males and females. You choose who you want to be with, from among members of the opposite sex. It's that simple. Seems a simple minded person could understand that. Get some education, and I might allow you to post comments again.

YOu've lost it Joe. YOu are angry, defensive, and mean. TYPICAL for your type. You gays want so badly to be accepted, but when people try to reason with you and tell you the TRUTH, you can't accept it and you get defensive. You need to chill out dude. You are wrong, and you know it. I think that is why you are so angry.

I'm ot angry. I get accuse all the time of being too happy. You don't know me. I am defensive. Youw ould be too if people wanted to give you second class citizenship. I am not mean. I love puppies and kittens, and don't harm baby birds.

Listen, just for fun, I am going to suspend comment postings that are not pro-equality. Since you all can not accept that sexual orientation is natural, I am not going to spend time arguing. So do not expect to see your homophobic and hateful comments posted.

Oops. "...not angry."

Posting comments on a crackberry is too difficult to worry about spelling.

I have not commented for awhile, since I was out of the country for the winter. While away, I did a lot of observing and have come to the conclusion that the country is moving away (and quickly) from the old RELIGIOUS condemnation of homosexuals, deciding to leave matrimony to the churches but placing marriage (as an equal civil right) in the hands of the government. It is about time. This severence of government and church is LONG overdue. Personally, I have decided that trying to show reason to the unreasonable is a waste of breath and have decided to focus my energies instead on Equality - for EVERYONE. The religionists can handle this with their version of God, hoping to work it out in the hereafter - if there is a hereafter, and if there is a God - and the secularists can work on loving their fellow persons, trying to be good people, and getting on with the future in the here and now. So fundamentalists, have at it! Me? I'm out of these tiresome discussions of my preference of a man, a man with whom I can express love and live my life, discussions that seem never to change anyone's opinions... about anything. Religionists, get ready. You are being summarily dismissed by most of the population because you are no longer relevant. And don't presume to tell me what God will do about what I think, say, or who I am. If God exists, that is between God and me to work out. Your preachments and beliefs don't scare me. Besides, don't you have better things to do with your time than to spew hate and venom? Have you looked out your window at the world lately? Aren't there more pressing problems at hand than discussing why any of us are the way we are?

Get a grip! Get a life!
