Voter Suppression

Be sure and read my other two posts today...scroll down.

Two things from two states.

In Alabama Inmates are being encouraged to register to vote, based in part on this opinion from Troy King:

The state attorney general's office issued an opinion seven years ago that inmates could vote from inside prison using absentee ballots.

Loretta Nall points out that now Troy King says it is "the worst thing he has ever seen".

There are up to 3000 inmates in Alabama that may be eligible to vote, and should be allowed to vote.

Now that this has made the news the prison commissioner Richard Allen, who supports us 100%, and is a very good and decent human being who believes in helping prisoners restore their lives is being bombarded with phone calls from angry white republicans condemning this historic effort to ensure people who have the right to vote are able to exercise it. The governor's office is also being flooded with calls from the same people.

Please call the following numbers and THANK the prison commissioner and the governor for supporting us and for UPHOLDING THE LAW.

DOC - 334-353-3883

GOV - (334) 242-7100

In Michigan we learned that the GOP plans to use foreclosure lists to challenge voters on November 4. The Obama campaign has filed a lawsuit to stop this.

Visit 866ourvote.org or call 1-866-ourvote to see what is happening or to report problems in Alabama or any other state.

AND, now after pressure from the Republican Party, all registration of new voters by inmates has been stopped. So much for democracy. Who knows what or who may be next.
Another stolen election?!?
