Don't Ask Don't Tell...Hmmm

Supporters of repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and allowing gays to serve openly in the military are wondering "What's the holdup?".

Gays are in the military now, alongside heteros. Gays have been fighting for our country since the Revolutionary War. Gays are willing to put their lives on the line for our country. The first soldier wounded in Iraq, Eric Alva, was gay. Here he is testifying before a house committee last year.

Now these army guys claim to be straight. But at least they can have a little fun while deployed. Plus, the music is Journey and who doesn't like them. From my friends at OMGblog. Be sure to see the credits at the end.

Don't ask, don't tell for sure!

I'm pretty sure they aren't gay. At least, not good gays, judging by the mess in that room! But with a little training...

The gay community is 90% AGAINST the war...ANY war. So why on earth would we want them serving in the military?

Joe, has The Star hired new publisher yet. Or are they gonna hire one? What you know bout it?

I don't know if they have found anyone or not. I'll have to ask around.

John,
I hesitated to post your comment, because it is unfounded. But then I thought I would offer you a challenge. Tell me where you got that information...that the gay community is 90% AGAINST the war...ANY war.

Being in the Army is supposed to be about defending your country. I know many gays who have and would continue or be happy to do that. Being in the Army is not supposed to be about unfounded and unjust invasions of sovereign nations. But I understand obeying your commander, so I support (and always have) the guys and girls who are in Iraq and Afghanistan now. But I also say bring 'em home from Iraq.

I, and the gays I know, have never said bring them home from Afghanistan. We have said...Win the damn thing.

Gays have served their nation and taken orders from the Commander-n-Chief, regardless, since the Revolutionary War. I won't go on and on as well I could, but I can say for sure that I personally knew literally dozens upon dozens of gay Air-Men stationed at Maxwell Air Force base in Montgomery, from enlisted men to high-ranking officers. In Norfolf, VA. I've met even more Navy men and just a few gay Marines. WE ARE EVERWHERE - Get Used to it or realize that our armed forces would be seriously compromised without ALL folks who serve.
