Where is the evidence of that? There are more uninsured in two other districts in Alabama that are represented by Republicans. An argument can be made this bill will benefit those districts more than Congressman Davis's.Kristopherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08426842944297525082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1677108722778516534.post-58754515119105339342010-03-21T11:16:57.701-06:002010-03-21T11:16:57.701-06:00I think the point for me is that he should be voti...I think the point for me is that he should be voting for the interests of his district, not the intersts of Alabama. He either (a) is voting against it because he is against it in principle, which means I simply disagree with him politically. I actually would be more willing to vote him in as governor if it is this, given that his issues will be pretty different from the governor's mansion anyway. Or (b) is voting against it because of ambition. Those of us (me included) which are more cynical when it comes to politics believe the latter. However, politicians should vote for what's best in their current job, not for what will get them to a better position in the future. This is pretty much what almost all politicians do these days: follow the poll of the day to get to a bigger job. Maybe they think they'll be able to do more good in a more powerful job, and thus sell-out in the present. The problem is that pattern has no end.Shianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1677108722778516534.post-34834062910269410802010-03-21T10:14:03.093-06:002010-03-21T10:14:03.093-06:00"After what he said about the Health Care bil..."After what he said about the Health Care bill yesterday, it is clear that he is putting his aspirations to be governor above the needs of the people who voted for him, including myself and my family".

What an idiotic statement! If this bill passes it will be because the democratic majority put their wants ahead of what the American want and need. " Please call his office.......1-202-225-2665 (congressional office). 205- 322- 9096 (local campaign office). They are getting lots of calls and maybe he will reconsider......." Call both, the person at the campaign office tries to put you off but tell her, no, his "no" vote will mean a "no" vote from me and many others in his race for governor. I called both.Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10842576168520693461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1677108722778516534.post-41021026490014771752010-03-19T10:12:11.915-06:002010-03-19T10:12:11.915-06:00Joe,

I too am disappointed in Congressman Davis's vote on healthcare reform and on his position re: LGBT issues.

However, I respect his right to have a different opinion that is thoughtful and well-reasoned, even when we disagree. The difference between Rep. Davis and most other politicians is he is thoughtful in everything he says and does. There is no, I have to do this because I'm black, or because I'm a Democrat, or because I'm a Christian. He casts his votes thoughtfully and can always offer the reasons why.

You aren't going to get that from most politicians in Alabama and certainly not from his opponent in the Democratic primary. I hope you will come to reconsider your position, but I understand where you're coming from.

http://www.theworldaroundyou.com/2010/03/19/which-alabama-congressional-district-has-the-most-uninsured/Kristopherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08426842944297525082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1677108722778516534.post-87148479871825732162010-03-19T10:04:57.307-06:002010-03-19T10:04:57.307-06:00Joe, Here's a news bulletin -- the rampant run...Joe, Here's a news bulletin -- the rampant run of progressivism is dead.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03931267274662480069noreply@blogger.com
